One month until Baby M’s due date! I know she’s not likely to arrive on the exact day, and the odds are on her being late rather than early. But I’d like to post a daily photo in this month leading up to the date, to document life in the period just before her arrival. I’m going to try to make them images of things I wouldn’t usually think to share — mundane, routine events. The stuff that’s sure to change once this baby’s on the outside.
This was my afternoon break today. I made a pan of cookie bars with chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, coconut, and pecans (my mom calls these blonde brownies and doesn’t seem to care that that makes no sense). I baked them ‘for Rob’, since he flies in tomorrow, but obviously I had to test one to make sure it was okay. (They are! I used this recipe.) I also decided to knit a Christmas stocking for Baby M, so I trawled the internet for inspiration and Fair Isle charts. I might regret using acrylic yarn for this in the end, but I was worried about using wool for something that will be in storage most of the year (moths!). I’ve been knitting all evening, and I’m about halfway through the yellow block with red deer (if you can make that out on the laptop screen) — I had to blur out the block above that part because it has the baby’s name on it!
