Projects

I meant to take photos of the dog crate I’m building, but I kept forgetting to bring my camera downstairs today. It’s possible that it won’t be very interesting to look at until it’s finished, anyway. I’ve got all the walls built, so I have to paint the insides, assemble it, and then paint the outside. The idea is that I’ll have a nice place for both dogs to sleep at night — something that looks like furniture instead of one plastic travel crate (Nova) and a dog bed (Henny).

I’m also getting around to finishing off the closet behind my bathroom. It’s a nice little space that will be good for storing linens and other random bits, but it’s just been some 2x4s and a light bulb up until now. This is my first time drywalling, so I’m glad it’s somewhere that won’t get inspected too closely!

re: The photo — Our snow levels are dangerously low! A little bit fell today, but we need a lot more to cover up all the sad winter grass.

Anna, is there one thing that you can’t do? And I mean this as a compliment. Wow, seriously, you paint, you are a wizard at sewing, and baking; your food pictures always looked mouthwatering; you write; you are super at DIY.

I think I need to see your dancing skills to check that off the list :)

I definitely don’t dance! I think I’m lucky with things like DIY and sewing because I can easily think in 3D, but mainly it’s just about trying things before assuming you can’t do them. My parents did a lot of DIY around the house when I was growing up, so it seems natural to tackle those projects myself.
