Hopefully you can tell that this is Nova and Beany lying on the back of the sofa together. It’s the cats’ favorite place to sleep, but occasionally I find Nova curled up there, especially if there’s no blanket for her on the sofa seats.
I took the dogs to the little dog park in my Minneapolis neighborhood yesterday. It was nice to let Nova run off her leash but in a big fenced-in area. Our walks have had a good influence on her, though; I was surprised to see that she stuck fairly close to me when we did a lap inside the fenced perimeter. Nova wanted to meet all the people but was unimpressed with the dogs until a puppy her size arrived. Unfortunately, he was much shyer than she was and didn’t want to play.
Ha ha, I looked up for a moment and became mesmerized by the bouncing DVD logo on the TV screen (do you remember the Office scene where they all cheer when the logo finally hits right in the corner?); then Birdy walked into the room and also became transfixed. (Oh! It just hit the corner! …this is my least exciting post ever.) Speaking of being easily amused, Nova loves the laser pointer almost as much as Birdy, and she definitely has a higher drive to chase it. I had her run after it from one end of the house to the other a good dozen times before she got distracted.
And that’s the news in pets.

I especially like your pet updates.
Ha yes the bouncing DVD logo.
