The Golden Hour

Up until last night, I was planning on participating once again in National Novel Writing Month, that crazy thing where you write a 50,000-word ‘novel’ during the month of November. I’ve even got most of an outline written. There’s a special headspace that a person goes into when she’s writing so many words each day, and I’ve generally found it quite a fun thing to do. But I realized yesterday that I just can’t do it this year — my brain doesn’t want to go there. Oh well — my outline will get fleshed out another time.

I decided instead to join NaBloPoMo, which is kind of the same thing, but with blogging (and no set word count). Since I’m already trying to blog more often, it makes sense. And maybe I’ll take advantage of the prompts from time to time.

re: The photo in this post — Every so often, I’m minding my own business and then glance outside to see that it’s stunningly beautiful out there. Just going unnoticed, not making any announcements. I went out in the chilly wind to take a picture for you. I hope my friends (and everybody else) affected by Sandy are staying warm tonight.

I love this photo! That would be a pretty framed print for inside the house.

That photo is painfully beautiful. What a wonderful place to live. You’re inspiring me to move out west!
