Mornings No. 28

Just another beautiful morning at Hinckleton Abbey. I’m slowly reaching the end of my garden fence project… very slowly. I built the World’s Crappiest Gate last night and then did the Most Terrible Hanging Job in the Universe (you should see my trophies), but it’s all turned out surprisingly okay. The gate didn’t fall apart as soon as I touched it, and it actually gently swings shut on its own, which is quite handy.

I’m accepting the fact that the garden itself will be a little ugly this year, since it’s all crammed inside the previous (smaller) fence perimeter. And I’ve been covering up the new garden ground with black plastic to kill the grass/weeds underneath, hopefully to make tilling a lot easier next year. I just have to remember how many years it took to get my Minneapolis yard looking decent — and this is a whole lot more yard!
