-- I've never understood how people can exercise first thing in the morning. Not only am I starving hungry when I wake up, but I also have no energy for running if I haven't had a good meal in the last couple of hours. I can even tell a difference when I eat oatbran for breakfast instead of what's in the photo here (because the English muffin, etc has more protein, I guess).
-- Elvis Costello played a new song at the show last Thursday, and I listened to the rebroadcast on Sunday, and now I can't get the song out of my hand. It's fantastic. And not yet recorded in a studio, I guess, so I can't just listen to it whenever I want. I hope it's a taste of what's to come with his next album.
-- I had leftover macaroni and cheese and some black beans in the fridge. Put your hands together, and you've got something delicious... assuming you had first put the macaroni in one had and the black beans in the other. Because I'm trying to say that it's a good combination.
-- There's a Logitech program that turns your iPod Touch (or iPhone) into a remote touchpad that you can use to control a computer. It's going to take some getting used to, but I'm excited to try using it while proof-reading, as resting my hands on the laptop for hours hurts my wrists. Even if it turns out to be not so practical, it's still kind of awesome.
-- I got new pillows today! If I wake up tomorrow without my sinuses trying to burrow to freedom via my ears, it will change my life. It's ridiculous how itchy the inside of my head gets while I'm sleeping. Does this happen to other people? I suspect the real solution is to lie on my back and not breathe through my mouth while I'm asleep, but I also suspect that that will never happen.
-- Here's a random survey of absolutely no consequence: What sort of coffee do you order when you're out? I almost always get a small, decaf Americano, and I add my own splash of half-and-half. Sometimes, if I'm feeling fancy, I'll ask for a single pump of sugarfree vanilla, but then the coffee tastes too good. Usually, I like for it to balance on the line between okay and decent, because then I won't drink it too quickly.

I regularly make mac and cheese and black beans as a lazy meal, not even just as leftovers.
If I'm at a restaurant I order regular coffee and add cream and sugar. If I'm at a coffee shop I order a vanilla latte.
Using allergy covers on your pillows (under the pillowslips) helps with sinus issues.
I usually just order plain decaf coffee but sometimes recently I've ordered a vanilla latte.
Carmel macchiato (I get it over ice when I'm in the mood for cold)--the awesome thing is that it's under 200 calories (From starbucks)
Mac & cheese + beans sounds fantastic. I like BBQ sauce with my mac & cheese too, so that sounds like a perfect pairing to me.
At coffee shops I usually order nonfat chai lattes. Mmm....
I love mixing mac and cheese with other things, mostly peas and tomatoes with lots of ground pepper. But I will try the beans, yum.
In a diner I'll drink decaf with cream/milk. 8 or nine cups worth!
In a mediocre cafe I'll drink decaf with milk or an Americano.
In a great cafe with amazing coffee I'll drink regular with cream/milk or an espresso and just savor it black and unsweetened.
Now I'm craving mac and cheese with beans! The bbq sauce idea sounds tasty too! I usually order a latte or a chai latte- sometimes with soy, and sometimes with milk. I'm relatively new to drinking coffee, so I haven't experimented too much yet with different types.
A family favorite growing up was mac&cheese, baked beans and baked potato (beans on the potato please). Sometimes the trade out of M&C for a hamburger made on the grill. In terms of coffee, I like the latte, the cafe cubano or the "cortadito".....or my regular American coffee with half&half and sugar in the raw.
Mmm, coffee.
I start each day with a piping hot Americano (made from my very own espresso machine! Gah! Glory!)
On Mondays, I like to patronize Caribou Coffee, for they have a special "$1 Mondays" deal on regular blend drip coffee.
Occasionally, I will get an iced Americano (with raw sugar + a splash of whole milk) as a mid-afternoon jolt.
And about once a year, I get a fancy $4 Christmasy coffee drink with lots of foam and weird toffee syrup and so forth. It's a tradition.
I like mac'n'cheese'n'peas. A little green to balance all those carbs, I guess. And my drink of choice is an iced latte, no sugar but a scone to tame the bitterness. I'm with Rachel though — if the cafe is excellent, I'll just get an espresso (con panna if I'm feeling sweet).
