Some lists for you today.
1. Food items that I wish I had a free, lifetime supply of (part of what could be a much longer list!):
– Zevia sodas
– perfect, tiny Honeycrisp apples
– Whole Foods Soy Crispettes (cheddar)
– Newman’s dried mixed berries
– Barney Butter
– Mountain Fruit Co. jam
– Yorkshire Gold tea
– Nature’s Path Pumpkin Flax Plus Granola
2. Recent occurrences that wouldn’t have happened if I weren’t a home-owner:
– The new drawer organizer I bought fit perfectly in the space I had, and it made my day.
– I listened to a friend’s story about her broken oven, and when she apologized for being boring, I had to admit I found it all rather fascinating.
–I keep getting excited when I think of uses for my new vacuum: the mattresses! upholstery! the car!
3. Things I’m currently proud of:
– I have my tax man appointment tomorrow and am 95% ready (have to double check my interest income).
– I’ve been taking it easy with my injured ankle, even though it’s tempting to test it, and I really want to get back to running.
– I’m making progress with my big house overhaul, slow as it is, instead of just sitting around and wishing I’d start.
– I’m blogging regularly.
4. Things I would like:
– For Booty the Cat to magically gain three or four pounds.
– For the world to just take a break from disasters for a while. It’s too much. The reporting is heart-breaking.
– For everybody reading this who has a blog to leave a comment, so I can check out your blogs, especially if you’ve never commented before. (You can comment if you don’t have a blog, too.) Apparently today is National Delurking Day? I didn’t realize that until I checked just now (but I think there are probably a few dozen ‘official’ delurking days).
P.S. — I thawed out a piece of my birthday cake today. It froze amazingly well.

Delurking to say – it’s too bad my chubby cat can’t just give Booty a few pounds. I’m sure Luke would be happy to share (he certainly has more than enough).
I always enjoy reading your blog and seeing your photos. You make food look so tasty.
I don’t have a blog but who could resist commenting on National Delurking Day? Certainly not I. Really enjoy your blog but I have to read it during or after lunch otherwise I get hungry.
That cake looks good and your lists put a smile of my face tonight
I’m impressed that you have the discipline to freeze your birthday cake, because I would just eat it until it was gone.
Hi Anna, I do read your blog regularly but never leave a comment (sorry!). Being a homeowner recently myself, I enjoy reading about your home decoration/renovation and your gardening, I am also vegetarian so am always inspired by your cooking. I would love to read a blog post from you about your tips on how to effectively manage your time working from home and maintaining a beautiful home at the same time. Thanks. Lova
Delurking to say hello. Love your food photos…I’m always so jealous of the ones with avocado (which I ate for breakfast constantly when I lived on the west coast, especially with cream cheese, tomato, salt and pepper on a bagel).
Consider me delurked … and now craving cake.
I may have commented a time or two before, but just in case…
I can certainly sympathize about wishing a cat would gain weight. I have a 20 year old cat named Amalthea that weighs just over five pounds. She looks normal, but she’s mostly fluff and bones. It’s to the point where we cook her hamburger six or seven times a day and pour little bowls full of Catsip (a “milk” that cats can digest). You can meet Malthy (and the other two) here.
Delurking with a link to my blog that I don’t update as often as I’d like. I’m in MN, too — just south of the Mall.
Kind of obsessed with your gorgeous house. And your meals.
I’m an incorrigible lurker and I’m really shy about my blog, but I like your lists and your photography and your request, so hello.
Honeycrisp apples are truly wonderful. I was a bit scornful when my husband started talking about wanting to try some a few years ago, as I believed the mutsu to be the perfect apple. And while I still maintain that it is, the honeycrisp has a longer growing season and is more readily available. And smaller fruit is almost always sweeter, but honeycrisps are one that I’ve tasted huge apples and they’ve been as good
Disasters. I think hugest advantage of the internet is also it’s drawback–the availability of the news. We have everything available to us all the time, right there, up to the minute and it can be just overwhelming.
I don’t have a blog, but I really enjoy reading yours. Your cake looks delicious! Mmm…cake. Is that Jarvis Cocker on your mug?
Hello. Here I am. Coming out in the light of day for you to see. Come over and visit any time. We are practically neighbors, as it turns out (well, a bit of an exaggeration, but well, we do live in the Twin Cities). I love your blog. Personal, honest, and in the moment. Love the food photography too.
hello from a serial lurker ;0)
always a pleasure popping by your blog.
ok hands up, i’ve been reading your blog for at least 2 years and never commented. keep writing!
I’m here!
Delurking to say hello, and your list is inspiring. Reading your blog always puts a smile on my face!
hello, delurking here! I’ve been following your blog for a while now, and especially love the way you write about and photograph food… makes me hungry though…
The cake looks so delicious! And I’m always very sad there’s no such thing as Barney butter in the UK. Anyway, I’ve delurked before but I’m doing it again. Can you delurk more than once…? I think maybe once you’ve done it, that’s that. I do like reading your blog, anyway.
Commenting to say that I ALWAYS read, and I got your e-mail this morning… your e-mails always make me smile. I am running out the door to go climbing right now, but I will reply to it sometime this weekend!
I don’t have a blog but I love reading yours. I especially like your photo’s.
Andrea, Yorkshire, England
Discovered you when I was looking for “light” and have been enjoying your breakfast with mine ever since!
delurked! i’ve been checking out your blog for ages, and started because 22 is my lucky number. my birthday is 10/22, and my brother’s is 8/22, and i’m 22 months older than him.
Hi, I’m from Canada and I lurk…until now.=) Love your wordplay and sense of humour.
National de-lurking day– you made me comment. I enjoy your blog for the peeks into your beautiful home, and also for your calm voice.
Nice job with the house overhaul! I should learn from you to tackle it all so systematically, rather than start in a million different places at once which is totally overwhelming. Also, Zevia sodas are on my shopping list. Can’t wait to try them!
My lifetime food items would be: cool ranch doritos, classic coca-cola, really good sweet grapes and mom’s homemade pecan pralines.
Oh, and I’d need this list to be not only free but free of calories! lol
So as it stands I rarely eat any of the above because it’s not realistic and I can never find really good grapes.
I shall henceforth consider myself delurked. I love your blog – your cat stories crack me up and I need to get motivated to spend less time reading about you decluttering your closets and more time decluttering MY closets!
Oh, well, don’t suppose I have commented before. I enjoy reading your blog, I suppose I have been checking in for a couple of years? I have a funny little cat (and a bouncy dog), I craft and eat, live alone and travel, so I guess we have things in common!
Hi Anna, I wish I had a lifetime supply of Dr. Brown’s diet black cherry soda. Also Grated Ginger from the Ginger People which I use instead of pickled ginger with tuna or sushi. And American Spoon foods Dried Tart Cherries. I wish Ghiradelli still made their double chocolate chips.
I will be photographing my homecake later too…yellow cake with chocolate ganache frosting.
Hi Anna. I’m also a re-de-lurker, popping in to say hello again. That cake does look mighty tasty. Have a great weekend!
Hello! love your blog. Amanda xxx
Day-um, girl. Look at all them comments! I’m friends with a famous blogger!
Have fun with your new vacuum. That cake looks real good. Also, who are the dudes on your mug in the pic? It looks like Jemaine Clement (from “Flight of the Conchords”) and Jimmy Carr. But that would be impossible, as they’ve never professionally collaborated. I know this, for I Googled it.
I might have commented here on your blog once, and I often leave comments on your flickr site. Please stop by my blog and say hi! I talk about food, fitness, home life…. and more.
Thanks for sharing all of your thoughts and attention to life’s fine details.
I’m a day late, but not a lurker. Perhaps they cancel each other out?
I think I commented before, so I’m not really delurking, but love your blog! Oh, and I love Nature’s Path Pumpkin Flax Plus Granola too. Great stuff!
Have a great weekend! ; )
thanks for the invite to de-lurk… we have a few things in common-vegetarianism, gardening, sewing, staying home
and I even lived on Park Ave in Mpls briefly long ago (to study finnish at the U)!… I enjoy reading your thoughtful musings, thank you for sharing them with us.
I’ve been lurking here for years I think, so hello! am trying to blog more often, but so far writing them in my head not on the pc!
I don’t lurk and do comment but can’t remember how long ago I last did – so I thought I’d do it again! Now I bet you wished I lurked!
I lurk. I may have commented once or twice, but mainly I lurk.
I also blog at:

and

I love reading your blog. I love food, gardening and photography. I am not a vegetarian, but I do try to eat at least 3 veggie dinners per week.
I don’t have a blog yet. I’d like to, but I just have enought hours in a day as it is. I do have a flickr account – Henna73, that I am going to make Pro an add to more this year.
Hi Anna, I’ve only commented once before, but I read your blog quite regularly and I think it’s fascinating. I love your stories and the photos you take a delight to the eye.
Hello Anna. I’m an Anna too, and I really enjoy reading your blog. Love the Hot and Nots and the new pillowcase quilt. Inspired. Will stay in touch.
