Dream Advice

Another beautiful November day! This photo was actually from yesterday (note the Sunday paper), but today is just the same — clear blue sky. We’ve been so incredibly lucky with the weather this month, but as I told the man at the coffee shop, I’m sure we won’t remember it when it’s snowing in May. Always looking on the bright side, me.
I had a dream last night that I’d blogged about an (imaginary) article my friend Monette wrote a few months ago, and I received a slightly admonishing comment from Mo saying that she’d only just noticed my post because she’d had no alert, and why didn’t I have a newer and more dynamic publishing platform and make use of the ability to, say, twitter the first line of new blog updates, so she could more easily stay in the loop, especially when I was referencing things she’d written? And then I abruptly woke up, thinking, You’re right, dream!Mo, I SHOULD switch to WordPress! And then I wasn’t able to fall asleep for almost an hour, because I was thinking about how much work that would take.
And you thought talking about normal dreams was boring! It was quite a useful dream, though, and when I woke up for real this morning, I was still gung-ho about making the switch. And then I thought, Meh, I’ll just upgrade to the newest version of Movable Type (I’m using a rather outdated one). And that’s withered to thinking I’ll just reset the default templates and play with the CSS to get rid of the currently janky bits of code. But still, what an inspiration you were, dream!Mo, even if you were a bit harsh in your criticism. If you write any articles, I’ll make sure to both blog about them AND let you know when I have. That’s a promise.
So if you notice some weirdness going on with this website in the near future, I’m probably just messing with things.
On a completely unrelated note, look at the fuzzy bunny that Beany spotted yesterday. The end.

    The bunny is adorable.
My dreams the last few nights: all rocks. I know. Exciting.

  2. Wait, wha–? You don’t use WordPress?!? And what is this “Movable Type” of which you speak? Is that like a typewriter? Tappy tap tap?
Come to WordPress. It’s all kinds of awesome. The templates … the widgets … the ease-of-toggling between WYSIWYG and HTML / CSS editing. Succumb to the force. Do ittttt.

Movable Type is just another publishing platform. This new version is just as good as WordPress, in my opinion.
