Hello there! I've really got a feeling of being back 'at home' now that I'm in London. It's strange, but it just feels like I know what to expect better than in Minnesota, know my way around, recognize things, etc. This morning I made some of my sort-of scones:

With clotted cream and jam, naturally. Yesterday was just about as perfect as you like: We had breakfast at the cafe across the river and then walked to my old bank so I could close out my account. Came back to the flat, got in the car and drove to the Cotswolds to see the house Rob is buying. It's in the country, pretty much; these ponies live no further than a mile away:

We stopped for tea and pie, had an ice cream on the drive back, and there was a new Doctor Who on in the evening! It doesn't get much better than that.
Lovely. Just lovely. Look at the article that was our local Sunday newspaper here in Minneapolis: http://www.startribune.com/1513/story/1117199.html
I mean, what are the odds?!?!?
xoxo

...Rob is moving there? Near the ponies? Fantastic!
And I'm glad you're having a nice time. Though how could you not?

We must have just missed each other in London :) I had beautiful weather all week while i was there and I am sure you are as well. (as it was 80 degrees the day we left) I think I watched that Dr Who as well...was it the one at the Globe?? we toured there and they talked about it and then we were watching tv when it was on!! Anyway I will stop invading your journal now...

LOVE that you and Rob are such good pals like me and Andy. it's the best isn't it, when you get to still share the good times and memories. And a house in the Cotswolds, idyllic!
If I'm not back here before you go to Ireland then I certainly will be sending you my beset wishes for a warm and holiday-ish fun time. And I hope the book fair is fun too, I'm sure I remember you posting on it last year.
I forgot to sayon your ambition post, the food thing, I was really happy to read that, I definitely agree you should be doing a food thing, and all the options sounded very achievable given your passion, knowledge and skill. Yey Anna! x

See, that's how I feel about going back to Minneapolis, even though I've been gone for nine years.

I don’t know if you have Internet access where you are but I thought I should try to get through to you somehow. Scientists have reported strange, green, paper–like growths appearing on stems and branches all throughout the area, and the ground is changing color too! No one is sure what is happening but the consensus is that it has something to do with climate change. Don’t be shocked when you come back to Minneapolis to see that the beautiful blacks, whites, and grays of winter have transformed into a somewhat gaudy shade of green.

It looks beautiful. I'll be in London for the first time in a little over a week for a short stopover before heading to the Lakes - do you have any suggestions for interesting (possibly non-touristy) things to do in the city for three days?
