Who's got the prettiest bedroom oh them all? Oh yes, it is I!

I've never thought of myself as a girly girl, but this bedroom is pretty sweet (and not in a 'suh-weet' way!). I love all the furniture in here; the dresser and nightstand came from a Craigslist seller, and the headboard was sold to me by a woman my mother used to work with. I had to paint the headboard to match the other pieces, which came to me painted antique white (thank goodness!).

This is the prettiest dresser ever. The chair goes to my kitchen table, so it's there just to get it out of the way for now. There's an empty spot in the corner as well, so maybe I'll someday slide the dresser further down the wall and put a tiny armchair in the corner. Maybe.

Pretty! Because I've done so much decorating in such a short span of time, it doesn't quite feel like mine yet, so I can still sit back and just appreciate how lovely everything is. And now that I don't have to pick up a paintbrush for a while, I can even manage to relax and enjoy it. But, hey! What's that?

No, Minnie! Bad dog! Get off the bed!

p.s. -- Another postscript! I just realized that, as of today, I've owned the house for one month. Hooray! Check out the Flickr set.

I so long to do to my house what you have done to yours: make it simple, clean, pretty, and calm.

Thank you for giving me continued inspiration.

Yes. You win the prettiest bedroom contest. I'm so jealous. Love your style. If you don't mind sharing--what paint color is that?

this all looks so clean and cosy - after only a month! we have been in our house for 21 years and it looks like a jumble sale. I wish it didn't!

AHhhhhhh..... there's just something about blue and white isn't there? The dresser is so perfect.... that I wish it were mine, right down to the birds! And, a little dog fur tucked in here and there is the perfect contrast!! Very, very nice! Very, very jealous!!

I love white with blue. Very soothing and the natural light makes it even more appealing.

The room looks so gentle and whimsically calming...I'm impressed with the paint colors you've chosen throughout the entire house, actually...they're all so rich, cozy, and inviting!

Every single colour scheme you have selected for your beautiful new home is perfect. Such a lot to accomplish in one short month...especially when that month has included the busiest time of the year! Amazing and so beautifully photographed. Thanks so much for letting me pop by and be inspired.

Gorgeous! Such a clean look. Such traditional furniture is usually not my style, but I love what you've done with it and the colors. And Minnie is lovely, too!

Lovin' it all!

Am I right in thinking you've had your 'open house' tea and cakey type day, I had 20th in my head as the date and all day yesterday kept wondering what you'd have, who'd be there, how pretty you would have the place looking.

I hope it went well. And if I have the wrong date, then I hope it goes well.

The blue and white theme in your bedroom is just so lovely. It's like a picture out of Vogue Living--it's like a sweet little cottage in the outskirts of France. Your furniture is just too precious! :)

Anna--I am very impressed with how you've made your house a home...it is very warm and inviting, and I'm sure you'll build many wonderful memories there! It was well worth the road trip to see! (Oh, uh...well worth the road trip to see you, I mean.) :-D
