That’s a nice bit of cake, eh? I have a six inch cake pan from John Lewis which I really like, because I like my desserts small and round. I used it to make this cake for Em’s birthday, and last night I used it again to make a little orange cake. It’s sort of a pound cake, I guess, with orange zest and vanilla and cinnamon (basically whatever seemed good at the moment), with an orange glaze on top. They work quite well together, as the cake is very dense and sort of dry, while the glaze is super sweet.
Don’t you wish you could taste the things I bake? Well, now you can! I’m having an open house on the 20th of January, for friends and family, and you’re invited! Of course, it might help if you live in the Twin Cities (or don’t mind traveling and ridiculous expense just to meet some weird lady and eat her baked goods). It doesn’t matter if we haven’t met before — think of this as the perfect excuse! Send me an e-mail if you’d like a proper e-invite with the details.

That cake looks delicious!
What a lovely idea, Anna! Hope it goes well.
gorgeous cake! and orange glaze-mmmmm yummy.
beautiful cake… what a nice compact size. hope your open house is a wonderful success!
Wish I could come — your house looks great — I love the colors! Nice cake, too –
oh I would be there like a shot! but it is a very long plane ride from Australia, even so the cake looks worth it! have a great time.
If I had the money I would, for sure fly to your town just to meet you and have a piece of cake and a nice conversation.
What fun, i’d be there like a shot if I had magic star trek type beam me up/over abilities. have a great time.
next time i’ll be in the cities for sure. lovely cake–and i’m so envious of your having a house! and space! and your own things!! very nice to look forward to. everything looks really good.
Orange cake — yum! It looks delicious. I’ve been looking for a proper cake dish that size for a while now, I’ll have to go for a mosey in John Lewis next weekend! Hope you have a good housewarming.
Darn – I was just in the Twin Cities over the holidays. I love visiting there and wish I could come to your party. Beth
