Isle of Mull

Sorry to run off for so long without saying anything, but I had places to be. The Isle of Mull, namely.

My friends Whit and Sam have finally got married (they’ve been together for nine years already!), and they decided to tie the knot where Whit’s parents were married thirty-one years ago. What with them and their family being from America, we had the shortest distance to travel, but it was still a multi-legged journey. Drive to the airport, fly to Glasgow, hire a car, drive to Oban, get the ferry to Craignure, and then weave your way around a single track road. The wedding was lovely, sweet, and funny, and the scenery was definitely worth it!

Ahhhh… I love Mull! Iona, too. I went there for a spinning and knitting retreat in Summer ’04. I loved it so much that I took my family back in Spring ’05. I have a photo of that same light house. Beautiful. We’re headed back to Shetland and Fair Isle in a week! I love Scotland.

Hi, I live in Glasgow, so next time you’re passing, give me shout! I love all the Islands around Scotland, and used to live near Inverness, which is also beautiful. Your pics are gorgeous!! In fact, your blog is great – I’ve been a fan for a while. :)

    hello, Mme Publisher!
Back in my No Touch Monkey days, “Nate” and I were hitch-hiking around Scotland and caught a ride with a guy named Kenneth Wilson, who was a prawn fisherman on Mull. We stayed in the hostel there for a few days, and then he gave us a ride back. my pack smelled like shrimp for a month!

Ah those single track island roads. How can you not love a place that uses names like Tobermory? The Scottish highlands and islands are absolutely my most favourite place on earth. Well, them and my local chocolate shop.

    1. No Touch Monkey is my favourite title of a book.
    2. Ever.
    3. Single track roads mean you can’t look at the view because then the speeding tourist coaches knock you into the sea. If you’re driving, that is. If you’re a passenger they’re probably alarming but not overly demanding.
    4. Why does it say ‘./div’ at the bottom of the page? Someone smart should look into that. [Edit: fixed!]

Turns out I *have* seen the twelve22 site before (for the zipper tutorial) but without knowing it was you… well… anyhow nice to have met you in such pleasant circumstances…
[can I win the stalking prize now?] :)
