13 July 2006

This month, I have done the 12 of 12, and I've done it for Mo. I worry that she gets her hopes up every month only to have them crushed when I let another 12th go by unnoticed (or possibly, her life doesn't revolve around which memes I participate in). Anyway, here are my twelve from yesterday:

5:40 -- Getting ready in the morning. I suppose, overall, this bathroom is better than the bathroom I had in the last flat, because it's bigger and has a skylight. But it's not blue, and I can't paint it, so it's a bit boring. Or was -- until I put the pothos in there! Plant power!

6:20 -- Making lunch. I don't usually have QUITE such a fruity lunch, but the apple, banana, and nectarine all came in my organic box. They were very, very tasty.

6:45 -- Checking on my knitting. Yup, still there. I've finished the first side (again) and have about six rows plus the legs of the second. Some serious blocking is going to need to happen in this fox's future.

6:59 -- Walking to the train station. When it's light in the morning, I can walk through this park, which is very nice. Winter is a drag because it's cold AND I have to take the long way around to dodge possible. . . well, whatever sneaks around in dark parks.

10:00 -- Hard at work! Not much to say about this one, but what's that on the computer screen?

10:15 -- Oh, it's just the Crafter's Companion sample booklets! Sporting their green cover look. The photos on the front are likely to change, as customers might want pictures of things they can actually make when they buy the book. Go figure!

4:10 -- Speaking of the Crafter's Companion, what could be inside these boxes? Could it be all the finished projects the crafters contributed? All just sitting there? Let me tell you, I've been fighting the urge to run away with these, never to be heard from again.

7:30 -- Rob opens the blinds so we can go out on the balcony.

7:12 -- This is the park I walked through this morning, only I'm a bit further up this time. Rob thinks the park looks best from above, but I still like walking under the big trees.

7:50 -- There are piles of books all over this flat. We have several seven-foot tall bookcases, yet the piles, they refuse to go away. This pile is mostly mine; you can tell, because Rob doesn't really care about Kaffe Fassett (he did give me this book, though). The Combos in the foreground are from America. I'm saving them. I could eat an entire big bag of Combos in one sitting, I'm sure, but I have to hold off now I've realized how many calories they have. Rob thinks they're like dog treats -- I agree, but that doesn't mean I like 'em any less.

9:44 -- Teeth brushed, settling in to do some reading (yes, I know I go to bed very early, but did you see what time I wake up?). Boring bedside table -- it's attached to the bed frame, which came as part of the furnished flat -- it's too modern and dull for me. The clock is one of those sunlight alarm thingies, except it refuses to obey my commands and makes the sun rise about half an hour too early. What am I reading? There are a couple books for work there, but I'm currently (apparently) reading about genetics and stuff. Who knew!

9:50 -- A photo in the mirrored closet doors. I miss the green walls from the last bedroom. I'm trying to figure out what that shadow is in front of me. It's probably a flaw in the mirror, but maybe it's a ghost!

And that's my twelve. I haven't got a bonus picture, because. . . well, I just haven't.

If only you could see the labels on the drawers on Anna's desk. They are so professional and sensible.

My life has *always* revolved around what memes you do, didn't you know that?!

Hooray!! It's funny, I hadn't even checked your site this morning, but I was going through the set of 12 of 12's on Chad's site when I saw Anna (London, England). Haha, my face must have been looking funny (as always) because I thought, "no.. it's can't be..."

See how wonderful a meme-filled life is? Phototastic! I really like your last photo.

Great pix! What a healthy lunch! What are you knitting? I'm into afghans these days.

Come check out my 12 of 12 :)

Oh I hope you're enjoying that book! Matt Ridley is one of my favourite authors and I think that's his best book so it's worth getting stuck into (although I admit I'm biased towards all things genetics-y...)

I'm new to your site but it looks absolutely fun. I have a question though about your 6th picture. What is the crafter's companion?
