15 December 2005

Hello, world. I am now in America. It's very snowy here. I don't know why there's a seatless chair in the garden.

Rob and I are keeping our fingers crossed that there won't be any power cuts/burglaries/general badness in our flat while we're away, because (as you may remember) this site is hosted on one of our (Rob's) own machines. So if twelve22.org suddenly disappears, it's probably because our building has burnt down -- in which case, a missing website is the least of our worries!

Oh, ha ha. I'm going to go ahead and stop thinking about that now.

Anyway, what with the snow and the extreme decorations (my mom is obviously in the spirit), it really is beginning to feel a lot like Christmas (which, as I sing it, is the Bootiest time of year).

Also. . . Booty the Cat is still lovely and squeezy. And. . . it took eighteen hours to get from our flat in London to my parents' car in Minneapolis. Phew.

NWA may have changed the face of rap, but I'm not sure they know butt about transatlantic travel. Plus, they don't like flying direct to Minneapolis any more. What airline stops flying via its own hub? It's like they're trying to go even more out of business. On the plus side, today we have snow outdoors and waffles indoor and pets everywhere.

Did you ever SEE so much snow? Can you post photos of Bootythecat gingerlily treading on the snow and sinking in up to his armpits? Unless that is cruel. Jingle bells to you all xxx

America Welcomes You!

The snow is dumping on us here in tropical Wisconsin today...much like it did yesterday...so that's abnormal. Whoever heard of snow in the Midwest in December? Dude that's wack.

I guess Minnesota is experiencing the same oddities in THEIR weather patterns. Enjoy your visit :)

That seatless chair belonged to my mother's mother, YOUR great-grandmother. It was given to me a couple of years ago by my aunt because she no longer wanted to keep her mother's seatless chair around her place and was going to throw it away so she brought it my house to unload it. At first I was a little miffed that she would bring her trash to my house, then I had thoughts of putting a seat on it and sitting on it. Then some additional thought was given to where it would go in a house already filled to the brim with furniture. It sat in the garage for a short while when like a lightening bolt I had a vision of my grandfather in the garden that he loved so much and knowing that what ever grandma owned was because of grandpa's money I figured the chair could be considered a part of him and wouldn't he enjoy being part of a growing garden, being long dead and all. So for the last two summers a BIG pot of flowers sit within the seatless chair growing for grandpa.

And the snow? That just shows every year about this time.
