leaving — yes — on a jet plane

Oops, the picture’s gone missing.

I’m getting on a plane this evening and will be back in London by the morning. The above photo was taken in Chicago, shortly after I was issued the visa granting me permission to stay and work in the UK. I think I look like a photo in a brochure: ‘Once you have completed the arduous process, you will be presented with your visa. Happy travels!’
My dad says he can read my mind/expression, and it says, ‘I can’t wait to get out of this silly country.’ If that’s true, then the guy behind me is definitely thinking, ‘Man, I wish I had one of those. Stupid America.’

Yes, a pleasant time was had by all in the windy city. Even though it was an emergency vacation it was well worth the trip for Mommy/Daughter Bonding Time. Still, it was sad to leave the little girl at the airport just an hour ago. NWA ‘forgot’ to sign her up for a veggie meal so instead they offered her a coupon worth $10 !!!! for airport food. Get the pancakes ready Rob, you may have one hungry girl to deal with on touch down. Take care Anna! We loved having you home!!!!!!

You’d think a business class flight would include a meal. Sheesh. I guess NWA are focussing more on the rapping than the airline side of things at the moment. Anyway, Anna is at this very moment having a powernap, having survived the trip. She didn’t seem very traumatised at all by all that air travel. So she’s back, safe and sound, looking well-rested after a few weeks at the old homestead. And is it my imagination or is she getting prettier the whole time?

I vote yes…prettier and prettier (even though it’s been over 3 years since I’ve seen you, dear…I know KNOW.)
I am happy to learn that you had safe travels!

I agree, prettier. A recent well known study indicates that individuals who return to their country of birth to visit their mom and dad increase in prettyness 3%-5% per week of visit. Using these figures it can be statistically proven that Anna is up to a whopping 15 percent prettier than when last seen in London!

Nope, you are right. She just keeps on getting prettier.
